Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design distributed systems and infrastructure code across cloud technology layers and components.
- Develop, ship, and operate extensible, maintainable, reliable software and services.
- Lead by example, mentor engineers, and promote reusable engineering practices and standards.
- Drive improvements to product architecture, code, features, operations, scalability, and reliability.
- Lead technical reviews involving test maturity, static analysis, on-call operations, and incident response.
- Resolve major incidents and improve service uptime and health through automation and continuous improvement.
- Partner across product groups to deliver platforms, frameworks, and improvements adopted by multiple teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and at least four years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with one or more of C#, Java, C, C++, or Golang.
- Experience building, shipping, and operating reliable solutions.
- Experience with databases, data services, and Microsoft Azure or other cloud computing platforms.
- Experience with generative AI or agentic systems, including LLM-based applications, tool or function calling, retrieval or memory, or multimodal pipelines.
- Experience applying distributed systems concepts such as concurrency, conflict resolution, and consensus algorithms to backend architectures.
- Experience designing platforms or frameworks adopted by multiple independent product teams.
- Experience with monitoring service uptime and health through livesite and on-call participation.
- Experience analyzing large datasets and translating insights into product or engineering improvements.
- Preferred alternatives include a master's degree with at least six years of experience or a bachelor's degree with at least eight years of experience.
