Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and distributed systems patterns.
- Architect distributed microservices and REST APIs for mobile applications, web applications, and external partner systems.
- Lead architecture, system design, technical documentation, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best-practice initiatives.
- Optimize database schemas, queries, indexes, and transaction management for performance and scalability.
- Develop automated unit, integration, contract, performance, and load testing strategies.
- Improve reliability through observability, logging, distributed tracing, health monitoring, alerting, resilience patterns, and operational improvements.
- Build CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, infrastructure automation, and engineering productivity tools.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives as a technical lead or Single-Threaded Owner and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Use AI-assisted software engineering tools to accelerate development, refactoring, and code generation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot for enterprise-grade backend applications.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs, distributed microservices, scalable distributed systems, and highly available and fault-tolerant services.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and transaction management.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, software design principles, authentication, authorization, API security, OAuth2, JWT, and secure software development.
- Experience with asynchronous messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ and caching technologies such as Redis.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality tools, observability, logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and alerting.
- Experience collaborating with mobile engineering teams and designing APIs for iOS and Android applications.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, 10+ years of experience, and experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, API gateways, service mesh, cloud networking, event-driven architectures, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, and mobile application architecture.
