- Own operational readiness reviews for new platform capabilities and major changes.
- Build production automation, controllers, operators, platform APIs, rollout primitives, and internal tooling.
- Improve platform observability through metrics, logs, traces, uptime tracking, incident response, and postmortems.
- Implement platform security automation, including intrusion detection, remediation, and patch management.
- Evaluate container, orchestration, networking, isolation, autoscaling, and observability tooling and guide architecture decisions.
- Improve multi-tenant, multi-region platform reliability, security, performance, and infrastructure cost.
- Support continual testing automation and advise product teams on sustainable on-call and operational practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, container or Kubernetes operations, SRE, or production infrastructure, including operating systems at scale and participating in on-call.
- Deep expertise in at least one, ideally two, of container tooling and ecosystems, production software engineering, or operational/SRE practice.
- Production programming experience with Go or a comparable systems language and the ability to build controllers, operators, and platform APIs.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containerd, OCI/CRI standards, and relevant CNCF ecosystem tooling.
- Experience with large-scale multi-tenant systems and workload isolation techniques such as namespaces, RBAC, network policies, resource quotas, virtual clusters, or VM-class runtimes.
- Confidence operating AWS across multiple accounts, IAM, and VPC, plus infrastructure-as-code experience with Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK.
- Experience automating operational toil, improving MTTD/MTTR, and leading incident response and blameless postmortems.
- Clear communication with infrastructure specialists and product engineers, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to work asynchronously in globally distributed teams.
- Nice-to-have experience operating multi-tenant Kubernetes platforms, policy engines, cost-attribution tooling, managed database platforms or Postgres, and observability systems.

About Supabase
Supabase builds an open-source Postgres-based backend platform for developers, bundling database, authentication, storage, realtime APIs, edge functions, and vector search. It monetizes through a managed cloud service and enterprise offerings while remaining deployable self-hosted. Founded in 2020 and privately held, the company operates globally with a fully remote team. Developers use Supabase as a Firebase alternative to launch quickly and scale production applications on PostgreSQL.
