Responsibilities
- Translate complex compliance and business problems into machine learning problems using large RBC datasets.
- Lead AI and ML initiatives from ideation and proof of concept through development, deployment, and production support.
- Design and implement generative AI solutions, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems, LLM-powered agents, and NLP pipelines.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and model risk management teams to meet enterprise standards for scalability, security, and governance.
- Evaluate emerging AI and ML technologies for compliance applications.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
Requirements
- PhD or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
- 7+ years of expert-level programming experience, preferably in Python, including production-quality code and documentation.
- At least 5 years of experience working with structured and unstructured datasets, including data preparation, exploratory analysis, and business insight generation.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and deploying production machine learning models for real-world problems.
- Knowledge of NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, seaborn or Matplotlib, and standard machine learning algorithms.
- Strong experience with NLP and generative AI concepts including embeddings, text preprocessing, RNNs, transformer architectures, model fine-tuning, and prompting.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing RAG architectures with vector databases, embedding models, and retrieval pipelines.
- Experience building and deploying RESTful APIs for ML model serving with FastAPI or Flask.
- Experience with MLOps, model serving, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines for ML systems.
- Experience with Git and Linux.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across business, engineering, and risk management teams.
- Preferred qualifications include autonomous AI agents, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, financial services or compliance experience, big data, PySpark, Scala, deep learning, and at least 2 years with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
