Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of comprehensive security strategies and solutions.
- Design and deploy advanced security controls to protect the business.
- Shape security services strategy and execution across disciplines.
- Set and uphold security process standards that support high-quality engineering.
- Mentor and motivate engineers.
- Secure cloud data platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses through discovery, classification, and DSPM practices.
- Integrate security controls into data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Support data lifecycle management, legal holds, tokenization, encryption, and cryptography processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Technology or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of software or security engineering experience in cloud-native environments.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Postgres, Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS S3.
- Deep experience with data discovery, classification, and Data Security Posture Management.
- Proficiency in Python or a similar language and regex patterns for automation and tooling integration.
- Foundational understanding of protecting PII/PHI and healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
- Preferred experience architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale distributed systems.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and with CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred familiarity with server-side technologies including Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, and Go.
- Preferred 4+ years as a trusted technical decision-maker in a team setting.
- Preferred experience with health-tech systems, electronic health records, clinical data, DSPM platforms, data pipelines, data lifecycle management, legal holds, tokenization, encryption, or cryptography.
- Preferred experience in healthcare, health tech, or another highly regulated environment.
