Responsibilities
- Design and build admin tooling and API features for the AI character platform.
- Develop, version, maintain, and secure production REST APIs used by external integrations and partners.
- Integrate third-party AI, media, voice, and real-time delivery services.
- Contribute to AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and environment management.
- Partner with engineering leadership on architecture, code review, and technical planning.
- Improve observability, on-call practices, reliability, and graceful degradation as usage scales.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full-stack engineering experience with a strong backend emphasis.
- Proficiency with React or an equivalent frontend framework and Node.js and/or Python.
- Experience building, versioning, and maintaining production REST APIs for external teams or partners.
- Solid AWS fundamentals, including Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, and S3.
- Production experience integrating third-party APIs with reliability and error-handling considerations.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Preferred experience with OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, real-time communication systems, voice and audio APIs, platform or developer tooling, API-first products, and Datadog.
