Responsibilities
- Design and develop administration tools and other features for the AI character platform.
- Build, maintain, version, and evolve production APIs used by integrations and external partners.
- Integrate third-party AI, LLM, voice, audio, media, and real-time streaming services with attention to reliability and graceful degradation.
- Contribute to AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and environment management.
- Collaborate on architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical planning with engineering leadership and the lead AI engineer.
- Participate in observability, on-call operations, and platform reliability improvements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of full-stack engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
- Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks such as React and backend technologies such as Node.js and/or Python.
- Experience creating, versioning, and maintaining production APIs used by teams or external partners.
- Strong foundational knowledge of AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, and related services.
- Demonstrated experience integrating third-party APIs in production, including reliability, error handling, and controlled service degradation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a small, dynamic team managing multiple initiatives.
- Preferred experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Gemini, or Anthropic.
- Preferred knowledge of real-time communication systems such as WebRTC, WebSockets, or LiveKit.
- Preferred experience with voice and audio APIs, including TTS/STT.
- Preferred experience with platforms, developer tools, API-focused product development, or observability tools such as Datadog.
