Software Engineer (Stagehand)

Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and grow the Stagehand browser automation framework and its developer-first APIs.
- Design and implement tools that make web automation simple and powerful.
- Work with OpenAI, Google, and other AI labs to improve models, benchmark capabilities, and make them accessible to developers.
- Deploy production-ready AI solutions serving millions of customers.
- Define, scope, and prioritize projects shaping developer tooling.
- Document work and share knowledge with the team.
Requirements
- Strong coding skills, preferably in TypeScript; Python and Go are also valuable.
- Experience building developer tools, frameworks, or libraries used by others.
- Experience building AI agents or LLM applications, distributed systems, or reinforcement learning systems.
- Familiarity with Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium, web scraping, or Chrome DevTools Protocol is valuable.
- Track record of open-source contributions or public developer projects.
- Ability to set direction, make sound technical decisions, and independently drive projects with high ownership.
- Clear written and verbal communication, adaptability, and willingness to learn unfamiliar systems.
- Willingness to work five days per week at the San Francisco headquarters or relocate there.
