Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain development environments that enable engineering teams to build, test, and ship products.
  • Provide expert support across the application landscape, investigate complex technical issues, and conduct root-cause analysis.
  • Automate release deployments and system maintenance to create reliable, repeatable operational processes.
  • Investigate and introduce technologies that improve environment performance, scalability, security, and stability.
  • Design and deploy new features, configure and deploy tool releases, and support smooth rollouts.
  • Collaborate with distributed global engineering teams using asynchronous handoffs and shared accountability.
  • Participate in occasional weekend downtime activities and on-call support.

Requirements

  • Expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and macOS administration.
  • Strong experience with Docker, including image builds, registry management, and Compose, and Kubernetes, including cluster deployment, Helm charts, and scaling strategies.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or Apple internal cloud services and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on Jenkins experience with declarative and scripted pipelines, shared libraries, and agent management.
  • Experience with Gerrit and Git, including code review workflows, branching strategies, submodules, LFS, and access control.
  • Proficiency with Python and Shell scripting using Bash or Zsh, plus familiarity with Go, Ruby, Groovy, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools in development and operations workflows, including AI-assisted coding, LLM-based automation, or MLOps pipelines.
  • Strong root-cause analysis, incident response, and debugging skills across the full stack.
  • Experience working in distributed, multinational teams and taking end-to-end ownership of infrastructure improvements.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, VPN, firewall configuration, Nginx, Apache, SSL/TLS termination, CephFS, NFS, Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, NoSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk is preferred.
  • A BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least five years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Administration.
