Responsibilities
- Embed with business teams and customers to identify high-value problems and create technical plans.
- Own complex initiatives from discovery and prototyping through deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support reliable large-scale software solutions.
- Build and productionize AI-native solutions using LLMs, agentic workflows, RAG, and semantic search.
- Create reusable architectures, components, and engineering standards across teams.
- Shape product and engineering roadmaps based on customer and field insights.
- Lead architecture decisions, improve engineering quality, and mentor engineers across teams and geographies.
- Balance speed, quality, cost, sustainability, and measurable customer and business outcomes.
Requirements
- The role description requests 10+ years of experience designing and developing scalable applications, platforms, or distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on system design, architecture, prototyping, and technical initiative leadership experience.
- Minimum qualification: a bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer or software field plus 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and design patterns.
- Extensive hands-on iOS and end-to-end application experience.
- Experience with RESTful services, APIs, messaging systems, data platforms, cloud platforms, CI/CD technologies, observability, reliability, performance, security, and production operations.
- Experience conducting architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Experience applying AI/ML, GenAI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, or AI-assisted development is highly valuable.
- Preferred: a relevant master’s degree plus 2 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong communication, collaboration, customer orientation, consensus building, adaptability, and ability to drive change in complex engineering environments; retail domain knowledge is advantageous.
