Base Salary
$230k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale machine-learning-driven features across multiple products.
- Design reusable architecture that accelerates machine-learning development across the company.
- Set development and machine-learning practice standards at SmarterDx.
- Mentor other engineers.
- Influence cross-disciplinary teams and integrate machine learning into product features.
- Manage model deployment, release, and post-launch monitoring.
Requirements
- 10+ years of development experience focused on machine learning and engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Experience managing the full model production lifecycle, including deployment, release, and post-launch monitoring.
- Experience integrating machine learning into product features with diverse cross-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and their machine-learning services.
- Experience project managing a small team using a modern agile methodology.
- Experience influencing a cross-disciplinary organization to adopt best practices.
- Strong understanding of data engineering and architecture principles.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Preferred experience as a startup founder or first engineering hire.
- Preferred health technology experience, particularly with hospital billing systems.
- Preferred end-to-end machine-learning project lifecycle experience, from data collection and model training through deployment and monitoring.
- Preferred experience deploying LLM systems into production.
- Open-source contributions or active participation in the machine-learning community are welcomed.
