Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and ship high-quality features for Box Drive, Box Tools, and Box for Office on Windows and macOS.
- Work across virtual file systems, data persistence, OS integrations, networking, synchronization, and UI.
- Contribute to cross-platform development using React Native and bridge front-end and native desktop experiences.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and designers to deliver robust, well-tested software.
- Lead and participate in design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
- Diagnose and resolve complex performance, reliability, and compatibility issues.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to and triage issues.
- Contribute to Box culture in the Warsaw office and represent Box Poland internally and externally.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional desktop software development experience.
- Proficiency in C++, C#, and/or Swift, with strong software design and architecture skills.
- Experience building and shipping desktop applications on Windows and/or macOS.
- Experience across virtual file systems, OS integrations, networking, synchronization, and UI.
- Experience with unit testing and functional testing practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues.
- Ability to communicate and complete project milestones in a time-sensitive manner.
- Proficient English communication skills.
- Preferred: Windows systems-level programming experience with Win32 APIs, multithreading, IPC, and COM.
- Preferred: Cross-platform development experience across macOS and Windows.
- Preferred: Experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
