Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable distributed-system components and large-scale data processing capabilities.
- Build fault-tolerant services using redundancy, replication, failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Develop functional, performance, load, fault-injection, and brown-out tests.
- Create dashboards, telemetry, alarms, and alerting systems for component health and reliability.
- Diagnose production issues, execute runbooks, participate in incident response and root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code tools for troubleshooting and cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, compliance, and change-management practices.
- Own features from technical design through implementation, deployment, observability, and production operation.
- Review peer implementations for scalability and support operational readiness.
Requirements
- Strong Java or comparable object-oriented programming experience.
- Experience developing backend services and APIs.
- Knowledge of distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Experience designing and delivering production-quality software.
- Full-stack development experience, including modern web UI development.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of testing, observability, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Ability to independently own features from design through production.
