Responsibilities
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, 5-whys, and root-cause analyses.
- Develop and maintain macOS software using C++ and Swift, including interoperability between the two languages.
- Improve engineering processes and pipelines to increase team efficiency.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and handle customer-impacting escalations.
- Champion engineering initiatives and promote ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with teams in Chennai, Bangalore, and the United States on security, availability, resilience, and cost-reduction improvements.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C++, Swift, and C++/Swift interoperability.
- Strong knowledge of macOS Endpoint Security, Network Extension, Security, System Configuration, CoreFoundation, and IOKit frameworks.
- Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and inter-process communication using Unix domain sockets and XPC.
- Experience with network programming, including TLS/OpenSSL and HTTP client/server libraries.
- Familiarity with macOS code signing, notarization, and Gatekeeper requirements.
- Hands-on experience with pkgbuild, productbuild, Distribution XML, and installer pre- and post-scripts.
- Hands-on experience with CMake in a cross-platform C++ environment.
- Ability to measure and optimize performance using macOS profiling and instrumentation tools.
- Commitment to unit testing, code coverage, code quality, and static analysis tools such as Google Test or similar.
