Responsibilities
- Validate, test, debug, and refine AI-generated code while establishing coding standards and AI guardrails.
- Lead end-to-end system design from requirements decomposition through deployment topology, data modeling, and API contracts.
- Collaborate with engineering managers and product leads on roadmap feasibility, effort estimation, and technical risk assessment.
- Design, develop, and maintain Go-based microservices for cloud and on-premises deployments.
- Build and evolve RESTful APIs for enterprise-scale customers.
- Implement certificate-based trust and mTLS for secure service-to-service and client-to-service communication.
- Apply secure development practices addressing OWASP Top 10 risks throughout design and delivery.
- Instrument services with structured logging, distributed tracing, and metrics using OpenTelemetry, New Relic, and OpenSearch.
- Support AWS and Kubernetes cloud-native deployments while maintaining feature and security parity with on-premises deployments.
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams across globally distributed development centers.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a master’s degree, 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Five to eight years of professional Golang software development experience on Linux or macOS.
- Experience designing distributed systems at scale, multi-tenant SaaS architectures, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Go microservices, gRPC or REST inter-service communication, RESTful API design, OpenAPI, and WebSockets.
- Hands-on experience with mTLS, x509 certificate lifecycles, PKI integration, and client identity verification.
- MongoDB experience including CRUD, aggregation pipelines, indexing, schema design, and query optimization.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation, New Relic APM and dashboards, and OpenSearch observability workflows.
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes, including cloud networking, security, service mesh, secrets, RBAC, network policies, and Helm.
- Knowledge of secure coding, OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, secure design, and code review.
- Familiarity with networking security concepts, firewall policy lifecycles, SD-WAN, and IPSec, IKEv2, or WireGuard VPN topologies.
- Strong production troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Git and familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to use AI coding tools critically, validating generated code for security vulnerabilities, logic errors, and inefficiencies.
