Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, scalable production software and platform services.
  • Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure software implementations satisfy design constraints.
  • Apply software development lifecycle tools, automation, and enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development capabilities.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs through peer review, automated testing, performance checks, and secure coding practices.
  • Analyze large and diverse datasets and create visualizations and reporting to improve software applications and systems.
  • Identify data patterns and hidden problems to improve coding hygiene, architecture, and operational stability.
  • Guide peers on responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, networking, service discovery, DNS, load balancing, and multi-service architectures.
  • Experience using and critically evaluating enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, Rust, or Java for production-grade platform services.
  • Solid Kubernetes experience, including deployments, namespaces, services, ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, custom controllers, or operators.
  • Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform and Ansible, including modules, state management, and repeatable provisioning.
  • Experience with several of Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CockroachDB, Cassandra, Kafka, and DynamoDB in automation contexts.
  • Experience building or extending CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Spinnaker, GitHub Actions, or Argo CD.
  • Preferred experience with environment provisioning systems, namespace-per-PR patterns, or composable and virtual environments.
  • Preferred experience with Istio or Linkerd service meshes, including traffic routing, header-based request matching, and traffic splitting.
  • Preferred experience with test data management, snapshot and restore automation, data masking, or synthetic data generation.
  • Preferred familiarity with CLIs, developer portals such as Backstage, API documentation, and self-service workflows.
  • Preferred experience with container networking, cross-cluster communication, or hybrid cloud and on-premises connectivity.
