Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, monitor, and optimize BigQuery and Dataflow data pipelines and batch ELT/ETL processes.
- Ingest, transform, and serve client SIS, ERP, and casework-system data for Google Cloud analytics and RAG data stores.
- Classify and tag sensitive data with Dataplex and Cloud DLP, and define appropriate access controls and governance policies.
- Design reusable data models and schemas, document data flows and classification decisions, and assess AI readiness.
- Conduct data quality reviews and testing while identifying reliability, access, privacy, compliance, scope, and delivery risks.
- Partner with Forward Deployed, GCP/Gemini Enterprise, AgentOps, client technical, and Engagement teams to deliver data systems for agentic AI solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Hands-on experience building cloud data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes for analytics or GenAI use cases.
- Experience with a major cloud data platform such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Synapse; direct BigQuery and Dataflow or Cloud Composer/Apache Airflow experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with data governance and classification tools such as Dataplex, Cloud DLP, Collibra, Alation, or AWS Macie.
- Working knowledge of cloud storage, messaging, and access-control concepts such as Cloud Storage, S3, Pub/Sub, SNS, SQS, and IAM.
- Strong SQL skills and experience using Python for pipeline development and data transformation.
- Familiarity with education or public-sector data privacy and compliance considerations, including FERPA and state privacy law.
- Experience integrating data from legacy or third-party systems and partnering with client technical teams.
- Proficiency in ETL design and development, including tools such as SSIS, plus basic C#/.NET knowledge for SSIS scripting.
- Knowledge of database design, data modeling, RDBMS principles, SQL performance tuning, and the software development lifecycle.
- Netezza and PostgreSQL experience, JIRA/TFS experience, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification, and Agile or iterative delivery experience are preferred or helpful.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance and work effectively on a distributed team.
