Base Salary
$190k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build key components and core subsystems of Stellar Core.
- Develop scalable, robust, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
- Improve network performance, peer-to-peer networking, processing performance, decentralization, and resilience.
- Collaborate on architectures and subsystems with engineers, leadership, and open-source contributors.
- Write maintainable production code with careful edge-case analysis and future-proofing.
- Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks and contribute to benchmarking.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices.
- Author detailed technical feature and protocol RFC specifications.
- Help deliver critical product milestones.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing software on a team.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- Production experience writing modern C++ or Rust.
- Strong software design skills involving reusable, extensible, and modular components.
- Ability to lead and communicate in technical design and code review discussions.
- Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
- Knowledge of development best practices and tools.
- Preferred: direct experience designing and implementing distributed systems.
- Preferred: curiosity about blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies and understanding of their fundamentals.
