Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture and technical outcomes for one or more Genius POS platforms.
- Design payment capabilities, integrations, and APIs connecting POS platforms, shared services, and third-party partner ecosystems.
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.
- Lead adoption of AI-enabled merchant experiences, agentic workflows, AI assistants, and developer productivity tooling.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to guide technical decisions and balance architectural trade-offs.
- Establish reusable architecture patterns, drive platform convergence, and influence cross-functional architecture decisions.
- Mentor engineers in architectural best practices and help teams navigate complex technical challenges.
- Promote technical enablement, experimentation, innovation, and effective collaboration across distributed teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Principal Engineer, or Technical Lead with a strong software engineering foundation.
- Track record designing and delivering complex, cloud-native platforms at scale.
- Deep expertise in payments and commerce technologies, including payment integrations, PCI-sensitive architectures, tokenization, API design, and secure partner ecosystem integrations.
- Strong knowledge of cloud and software architecture patterns, integration platforms, API management, observability, and DevOps practices across AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience applying conversational AI, agentic workflows, AI-assisted development tools, or other AI technologies in real-world solutions.
- Experience with POS, payments, or commerce platforms, including PCI DSS, P2PE, and omnichannel payment solutions is a bonus.
- Hands-on experience with foundation models, RAG architecture, agentic workflows, MCP tooling, and AI-assisted software development is a bonus.
- Experience driving architecture across multiple teams or platforms and building cloud-native distributed systems is preferred.
- Ability to influence technical strategy, communicate with technical and business audiences, mentor teams, navigate ambiguity, and focus on client and end-user value.
- Experience fostering high-performing, inclusive, collaborative teams and encouraging experimentation within Agile practices is preferred.
