Responsibilities
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into solution designs, services, data pipelines, integrations, and user-facing components.
- Own end-to-end solution design and ensure alignment with architecture principles, technology strategy, security requirements, and design governance.
- Define approaches for data ingestion, transformation, management, and consumption with data architects.
- Guide and coach engineering teams during implementation.
- Create architecture decision records, reusable patterns, decision trees, and practical design guidance.
- Support delivery teams in presenting and defending solution designs to architecture and design authorities.
- Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies and develop practical adoption patterns.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or a comparable technology role.
- Strong understanding of modern application architecture, distributed systems, APIs, integration patterns, and cloud-native design principles.
- Experience designing, building, or integrating ABAC or RBAC controls or IAM systems.
- Strong Java experience, including the Java ecosystem, Spring Boot, J2EE/Jakarta EE, and modern JDKs.
- Experience working with engineers, product teams, business stakeholders, and architecture or governance forums.
- Experience in financial services, asset management, or another regulated environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with .NET, TypeScript, Python, or modern frontend and service development approaches.
- Understanding of data architecture, data pipelines, data governance, and data consumption patterns.
- Experience with TOGAF, SAFe, or comparable architecture and delivery frameworks.
- Experience defining reusable architecture patterns, decision trees, architecture decision records, and design standards.
- Conversational and professional German proficiency at B2 level.
- Ability to use AI tools productively while applying critical judgment for responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, stakeholder collaboration, and technology evaluation skills.
