Thought MachineResponsibilities
- Design and build solutions for highly complex and ambiguous technical problems.
- Shape architecture, engineering standards, technical direction, and adoption of new tools and processes.
- Ensure solutions meet security, performance, cost, reliability, maintainability, and scalability requirements.
- Investigate complex production and non-local issues across services, environments, clusters, and products.
- Own high-complexity work items end-to-end and manage delivery across multiple teams or departments.
- Contribute to product strategy, vision, future solutions, and long-term roadmaps.
- Mentor, guide, inspire, and delegate to senior engineers while fostering technical excellence.
- Lead technical interviews for subject matter expert and leadership roles.
- Communicate with stakeholders at all levels and drive organizational and engineering-practice change.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern backend languages, ideally Go or Python.
- Experience working with large-scale, cloud-native systems.
- Proven technical leadership, including mentoring peers and driving complex solution delivery.
- Ability to solve highly complex problems with undefined scope and influence strategic direction.
- Extensive experience investigating issues across multiple environments, clusters, and products.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational and production support processes systemically.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, stakeholder-management, and organizational-change skills.
- Ability to evaluate competing approaches, combine ideas effectively, and focus on company and client outcomes.
