Base Salary

$150k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize the graphics rendering stack for robot head displays, including GPU pipelines and UI components.
  • Build and maintain Qt/QML applications for embedded Linux systems with strict resource constraints.
  • Develop and tune shaders for real-time vector graphics, animations, and visual effects.
  • Implement and optimize Vulkan and OpenGL ES rendering pipelines for smooth, high-framerate output.
  • Collaborate with designers and the Head of HMI to translate UI/UX designs into responsive implementations.
  • Profile and optimize rendering performance on resource-constrained embedded hardware while minimizing power consumption.
  • Integrate graphics components into the broader robot platform alongside middleware and embedded systems engineers.
  • Establish graphics development, testing, and CI integration best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of industry experience in graphics or UI engineering.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Qt and QML, including custom rendering and performance optimization.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Vulkan, OpenGL ES, shader authoring, and render pipeline design.
  • Strong experience with vector graphics rendering and animation.
  • Proven experience developing on embedded or resource-constrained systems.
  • Solid C++ skills and familiarity with Linux userspace development.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to translate visual specifications into technical implementations.
  • Preferred experience includes Unreal Engine or Unity, scene graph architectures, SVG and GPU-accelerated vector rendering, MIPI DSI, HDMI, display driver integration, EGLFS, DRM/KMS, HMI, or human-robot interaction design.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a stated US base salary range of $150,000–$275,000 annually.
  • Total compensation may include additional components and benefits depending on the role.
