Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable distributed systems that handle high data volumes with low latency.
- Maintain and support business-critical systems with a focus on scale and latency.
- Improve the scalability and reliability of XFI services and products.
- Research security vulnerabilities and implement security measures for systems handling sensitive data.
- Monitor production environments and use product data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide solutions to complex technical problems and contribute to ambitious projects.
- Deploy code to production regularly and participate in the full build-and-run lifecycle of services.
- Improve user experience for Outlook desktop and web clients on Windows and Mac platforms.
- Support integrations between Proofpoint threat defense software and Microsoft and Google email platforms.
Requirements
- Senior software engineering experience with strong object-oriented programming skills; Python experience is required or central to the role.
- Experience with C# is applicable to one of the team’s key services.
- Experience building reliable distributed systems and working with high-volume, low-latency services.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, ECS, ECR, and Lambda.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
- Experience with Terraform, CircleCI, Docker, Git, and GitHub.
- Ability to address security challenges and build software with security in mind.
- Experience working with data and infrastructure at scale is a bonus.
