Base Salary
$102k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Extend, maintain, and refactor the Minecraft engine with a focus on quality and performance.
- Implement code for products, services, and features while reusing code where applicable.
- Work with stakeholders to determine user requirements for feature sets.
- Break larger work items into smaller tasks and provide estimates.
- Investigate root causes, debug, and resolve complex systemic problems.
- Build pipeline services and core engine asset-loading systems for game-ready content across multiple platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least two years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: four or more years of C++ development experience, preferably cross-platform.
- Preferred: knowledge of textures, sounds, and data-defined gameplay assets used in modern game engines.
- Preferred: extensive troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Preferred: experience driving cross-organizational and cross-discipline communications.
