Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end technical architecture and target operating model across six service towers.
- Lead the Stabilise, Optimise, and Transform programme, managing timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, and escalations.
- Make architecture decisions across IAM, cloud, SRE, networking, data, and security.
- Establish and chair architecture and engineering governance, providing technical assurance across workstreams.
- Own the programme roadmap, resource plan, financial model, cost savings, team optimisation trajectory, and ROI.
- Manage stakeholders across client leadership, retained organisations, and offshore delivery teams in London, Singapore, and Australia.
- Define automation strategy, prioritise cross-tower initiatives, and drive vendor and tooling standardisation.
- Establish SLA, KPI, performance dashboard, and outcome-based measurement frameworks.
- Lead offshore migration, governance, and knowledge-transfer strategies.
- Chair steering committees, prepare executive reporting, and present transformation progress to C-level stakeholders.
- Build and lead distributed teams and establish a continuous improvement factory model.
Requirements
- 12+ years of technology leadership spanning infrastructure, cloud, and software engineering.
- 5+ years leading large-scale IT transformation or managed services programmes with a 50+ FTE scope.
- Proven delivery of measurable cost savings of 30% or more, team optimisation, and reliability improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as both a hands-on architect and programme delivery leader.
- Broad and deep expertise in infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, IAM, SRE, data engineering, IaC, CI/CD, DevSecOps, GitOps, and platform engineering.
- Enterprise-scale expertise with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, plus knowledge of cloud-native architecture, microservices, and event-driven design.
- Knowledge of SRE practices including SLI/SLOs, error budgets, observability, chaos engineering, and resilience patterns.
- Knowledge of IAM and security architecture, including Zero Trust, RBAC/ABAC, PAM, SOX, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
- Experience with Agile at scale, waterfall, hybrid delivery models, FinOps, TCO analysis, business cases, and outcome-based commercial models.
- Architecture certification such as TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Professional, or equivalent.
- Programme management credential such as PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe Programme Consultant, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience with managed services transitions and operating model transformations for global financial services clients is desirable.
- Published thought leadership in SRE, platform engineering, or IT transformation is desirable.
- Experience with AIOps, emerging automation technologies, or ITIL 4 Managing Professional or Strategic Leader certification is desirable.
