Responsibilities
- Own and operate agentic tooling used by Wise engineers, including security, model and tool access, telemetry, and evaluation.
- Build an engineering knowledge base exposed through an MCP server.
- Lead AI enablement through workshops, practical guidance, and adoption campaigns.
- Build and operate developer productivity products covering local setup, code review, deployment, and operations.
- Improve the developer portal and shared engineering services.
- Identify organization-wide engineering problems using research, feedback, usage data, and production behavior, then deliver software and process improvements.
- Lead large technical initiatives across teams and communicate technical ideas to varied audiences.
Requirements
- Be an experienced senior software engineer comfortable in a polyglot environment.
- Be an expert in at least one of Java, Go, or TypeScript; the broader environment also includes Python.
- Have strong experience building and operating production software from design through reliable operation.
- Demonstrate strong software design judgment and the ability to build testable, maintainable, and observable systems.
- Have practical experience using agentic tools to deliver real user stories and take responsibility for their results.
- Have experience building internal platforms or tooling used by engineers.
- Have experience leading large technical initiatives across teams.
- Bring strong code review skills and a high bar for engineering quality.
- Be confident leading workshops and advocating for change across a large engineering organization.
Benefits
- Starting salary of £111,000–£145,000 per year.
