Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, maintenance, and architectural evolution of an enterprise Data Lake platform and its data acquisition workflows.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions in collaboration with business lines and cross-functional teams.
  • Build data-quality tooling, validation mechanisms, automated monitoring, remediation processes, profiling capabilities, anomaly detection, and quality metrics reporting.
  • Integrate and optimize third-party market-data feeds, including normalization and transformation across acquisition pipelines.
  • Drive technical initiatives addressing performance, reliability, security, governance, documentation, and industry best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead a small technical team, establish architectural standards, and guide technical design decisions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to data acquisition capabilities and platform performance.

Requirements

  • Extensive professional Java software development experience delivering enterprise-level solutions.
  • Proven ability to act as a hands-on technical leader and execute while leading a small technical team.
  • Advanced proficiency with Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, microservices architecture patterns, and RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Experience architecting and developing highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems for mission-critical environments.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services or an alternative cloud platform.
  • Knowledge of market-data processing workflows for asset classes such as fixed income, equities, and foreign exchange.
  • Hands-on experience integrating and optimizing market-data feeds from multiple third-party vendor APIs, including data normalization and transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior engineers and transferring technical knowledge within development teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, documentation, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with GitLab or GitStash, gitflow, Jenkins, Ansible, and CI/CD.
  • Desirable experience with KDB, Python, fixed-income products, or investment banking.
