Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, maintenance, and evolution of the enterprise Data Lake platform and data acquisition workflows.
- Build data quality tooling, validation mechanisms, automated monitoring, remediation processes, profiling capabilities, anomaly detection, and quality metrics reporting.
- Integrate and optimize market data feeds from third-party vendor APIs, including data normalization and transformation.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions across business and technology teams.
- Lead architectural discussions, make technical design decisions, and establish development, documentation, governance, and quality standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership for a small technical team.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to data acquisition capabilities, platform performance, reliability, and security.
Requirements
- Extensive professional Java software development experience delivering enterprise-level solutions.
- Experience architecting and developing highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems for mission-critical environments.
- Advanced proficiency with the Java ecosystem, including Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, microservices architecture, and RESTful API design and implementation.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services or alternative cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of market data processing across one or more asset classes, including fixed income, equities, and foreign exchange.
- Hands-on experience integrating and optimizing market data feeds from multiple third-party vendor APIs, including normalization and transformation.
- Technical leadership experience, including mentoring and developing junior engineers and leading a small technical team.
- Strong verbal, written communication, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with GitLab or GitStash, gitflow, Jenkins, Ansible, and CI/CD.
- Desirable experience with KDB, Python, AWS, fixed income products, or investment banking.
