Base Salary

$166k - $266k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead research, design, and development of control architectures for humanoid and multi-agent robotic systems integrating vision, force, touch, and learning-based approaches
  • Develop advanced algorithms for dynamic control, manipulation, and interaction with deformable objects
  • Design and prototype real-time control systems, simulation pipelines, and model-based controllers
  • Use robotics simulation and training environments for robot learning, system modeling, and validation
  • Collaborate on reinforcement learning and imitation learning pipelines for dexterous manipulation and whole-body coordination
  • Apply control theory and modeling tools for system identification, control design, and validation
  • Contribute to distributed robotic system architecture and communication frameworks for heterogeneous robot fleets
  • Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
  • Mentor junior engineers and research assistants and review their designs and experiments
  • Bridge AI, mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines to ensure reliable integrated system performance

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience in robotics R&D or advanced control systems
  • Deep expertise in robot dynamics, control, and motion planning, including model predictive control, impedance/admittance control, or whole-body control
  • Experience with reinforcement learning, simulation-to-reality transfer, or learning-based control
  • Strong software background in C/C++, Python, and ROS/ROS2, including real-time control and embedded systems
  • Proficiency with robotics simulation tools such as Isaac Sim, Gazebo, and Mujoco, and learning platforms such as Isaac Lab and Gym
  • Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for system modeling, control design, and signal processing
  • Familiarity with Kalman and particle filters, SLAM frameworks, and sensor fusion for localization and perception
  • Working knowledge of image processing, digital filter design, and signal processing
  • Familiarity with force-torque sensing, IMUs, RGB-D, or LiDAR fusion
  • Track record of delivering complex robotic systems from concept to prototype through cross-functional hardware and software integration
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence teams and articulate technical vision
  • Publication record or patents in robotics, perception, or control preferred
  • Experience with humanoid robotics, wearable or exoskeleton systems, distributed control, heterogeneous robot fleets, or open-source robotics and AI projects preferred
