Base Salary

$158k - $239k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Conduct security assessments of software, code, hardware, and firmware against AI-driven, adversarial, and traditional attacks.
  • Translate general AI security findings into application security fixes and adapt software security techniques for hardware and embedded firmware.
  • Build, pressure-test, and drive adoption of AI-enabled security tooling and workflows.
  • Benchmark frontier models for security tasks and establish release criteria and guardrails for safe adoption.
  • Support AppSec vulnerability triage and bug bounty operations, with potential expansion to hardware.
  • Partner with engineering, hardware, security leadership, and executives to communicate AI-related security risks.
  • Define and drive Samsara’s medium- and long-term strategy for safe and effective AI adoption in security operations.
  • Use AI and LLM tools for offensive validation, red-teaming, and defensive security tooling.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in application security, vulnerability management, threat modeling, offensive security, or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated application-fix impact and broad organizational influence.
  • Hands-on experience building AI or agentic workflows for security use cases.
  • Experience conducting technical security assessments across software and hardware or firmware environments.
  • Experience creating secure-code solutions with engineers using languages such as GoLang.
  • Experience developing AI and agentic solutions using GitHub and AWS.
  • Experience with AI-specific attack techniques such as prompt injection, jailbreaks, and model or agent abuse is preferred.
  • Experience building or validating controls for agentic AI, RAG systems, or LLM-integrated platforms is preferred.
  • Experience red-teaming and evaluating or benchmarking LLM-enabled systems is preferred.
  • Bug bounty platform experience, including Bugcrowd, is preferred.
  • Experience with federal or FedRAMP-style environments is preferred.
  • Experience driving organization-wide security strategy or presenting technical findings to senior or executive stakeholders is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as OSCP, GIAC, CISSP, or AWS certifications are preferred.

  • Annual base salary range of $157,675–$238,500 USD, plus eligibility for an initial RSU grant and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance.
