Base Salary
$144k - $214k/yr
Responsibilities
- Embed within strategic customer engineering teams and understand their business processes, technical architecture, and operational constraints.
- Translate customer requirements into technical designs for AI-enabled production systems.
- Design, build, deploy, and operate production AI applications, including retrieval pipelines, workflow automation, API orchestration layers, and data integrations.
- Integrate foundation models, customer data sources, and existing applications while optimizing latency, reliability, and cost.
- Own the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, coding, testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, and incident response.
- Implement monitoring, evaluations, guardrails, and operational improvements for AI systems.
- Mentor and train new team members and provide meaningful code review feedback.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer AI adoption and codify reusable deployment patterns and accelerators.
- Make enhancements to team software and processes and feed useful patterns back into AWS services.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience working in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with agentic and spec-driven development, with AI agent development listed as a plus.
- Experience with AI tools including evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Preferred: at least 3 years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: experience in customer production environments and building or deploying AI/ML applications in production.
- Preferred: founder, engineering lead, or startup builder background with high ownership and urgency.
- Preferred: experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go.
- Preferred: experience interfacing with customers, leading technical projects with external stakeholders, or scaling end-to-end production systems.
- Preferred: experience with AWS services.
