Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate, and maintain software elements of flight dynamics systems for defence missions.
- Develop and specify flight-dynamics algorithms for space-control software.
- Support defence business-development and bid activities.
- Capture, define, tailor, analyze, and convert requirements into use cases and stories.
- Select features for ongoing product versions and contribute to product direction.
- Support ground-segment verification, validation, integration, mission-system testing, and simulation campaigns.
- Resolve technical issues with operations teams and advise on best practices.
- Interface with external suppliers as a Product Owner or Technical Officer and support the development team.
- Produce and maintain requirements, verification and validation plans, test procedures, test reports, and other product documentation.
- Follow the Scrum development methodology and maintain project schedules.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Astronautics or another relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of commercial space or defence flight-dynamics experience.
- Current UK SC clearance or eligibility to obtain UK SC clearance or higher.
- Excellent knowledge of orbital mechanics and flight-dynamics systems.
- Experience using MATLAB or similar simulation software and Python.
- Experience with mission analysis and requirements definition.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Spacecraft operations experience and ability to interact with spacecraft operations engineers.
- Knowledge of project life cycles and acceptance procedures.
- Software product-development experience across requirements, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of ECSS standards and commercial off-the-shelf flight-dynamics systems is desirable.
- At least five years of industry experience in software development and software engineering is desirable.
- Knowledge of Windows, Office, and Linux is desirable.
