Responsibilities
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data platform and data pipeline deployments.
- Author and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Helm for lakehouse components.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and orchestration workloads involving Airflow, Spark operators, and DataHub.
- Implement logging, metrics, alerting, and platform observability.
- Automate provisioning across development, staging, and production environments.
- Collaborate with data engineering and security teams on policy-as-code and configuration standards.
- Drive cloud cost optimization through spot instances, auto-scaling, and resource rightsizing.
- Develop runbooks, SOP documentation, and on-call playbooks.
- Support SLA compliance through capacity planning and incident response.
- Evaluate and introduce DevOps tooling to improve platform engineering productivity.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE roles.
- Strong proficiency with Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes, including EKS, AKS, or GKE.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Go for automation.
- Experience with Docker, container orchestration, and microservices deployment patterns.
- Knowledge of Honeycomb, Grafana, ELK stack, or Datadog for monitoring and observability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience with the Databricks Terraform provider or Snowflake deployment automation.
- Preferred: knowledge of GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or Flux.
- Preferred: CKA, AWS DevOps Professional, or HashiCorp Terraform certification.
