Responsibilities
- Design large-scale distributed and resilient systems for big data applications.
- Use cloud and database infrastructure to solve complex large-scale problems.
- Conduct feasibility studies for upgraded software systems.
- Maintain existing data systems and design or support migrations without compromising current operations.
- Design software programs, data flows, applications, and scalable database queries.
- Develop tools, contribute to open-source projects, and automate processes for a tested, high-quality codebase.
- Support less experienced developers and communicate design decisions and tradeoffs.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building large-scale data systems.
- Experience using large SQL or Elasticsearch databases to solve complex data engineering problems.
- Experience with some of Python 3, Flask, JavaScript, Vue.js, Amazon Web Services, RabbitMQ, and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing scalable and complex database queries.
- Ability to learn technologies quickly, iterate on solutions, deliver value consistently, and communicate design decisions and tradeoffs.
- Experience supporting less experienced developers within an area of expertise.
- Cybersecurity experience is preferred.
