Responsibilities
- Work directly with customer engineering teams remotely or on-site when necessary to design and implement real-time applications built on LiveKit
- Design scalable architectures for voice AI, real-time media, and developer platform use cases
- Build prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample applications
- Help customers use SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment strategies for production systems
- Debug and troubleshoot complex technical issues in production environments
- Lead technical workshops and architecture sessions
- Translate customer needs into technical insights for product and platform development
- Partner with Product and Engineering to improve developer experience, documentation, and tooling
- Contribute code, examples, or improvements to LiveKit’s open-source ecosystem
- Advise customers through successful application launches and scaling on LiveKit
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience
- Proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++
- Comfort working with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure
- Experience building or integrating developer platforms or real-time systems
- Ability to understand complex systems quickly and debug issues in real-world environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with customer engineering, product, and internal engineering teams
- Experience with WebRTC, real-time media systems, telephony/SIP infrastructure, voice AI, conversational agents, or AI infrastructure is preferred
- Experience in customer-facing engineering roles, open-source contribution, or building with or integrating LiveKit is preferred
