Responsibilities
- Shape credible technical and delivery solutions for major bids and pre-sales opportunities.
- Provide architectural oversight and assurance for solution designs and delivery partners.
- Engage customers, partners, and senior stakeholders while resolving complex architectural challenges.
- Produce technical content for bids, proposals, white papers, and presentations.
- Translate user requirements into solutions balancing performance, risk, and delivery constraints.
- Assess hosting, integration, and platform options across complex environments.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate technical risks across the solution and programme lifecycle.
- Coordinate specialist input while retaining ownership of solution coherence and delivery approach.
- Support contract mobilisation and the translation of bid-stage intent into engineering plans.
- Support governance frameworks, standards, and assurance artefacts for consistent delivery.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Senior Solution Architect, Chief Engineer, or equivalent in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Broad technical understanding across systems architecture, hosting, integration, networking, and service design.
- Ability to integrate specialist input while retaining ownership of the overall solution.
- Experience engaging externally with customers, partners, or programme stakeholders.
- Experience defining technical and delivery approaches that can be costed, planned, and delivered.
- Experience identifying and managing technical risks across the solution and programme lifecycle.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical ideas, risks, and trade-offs to mixed audiences.
- Eligibility for SC clearance.
- Pre-sales, bid, capture, client-side assurance, governance, secure or regulated environment experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with service governance, live service assurance models, architecture frameworks, and large-scale system patterns is desirable.
- Experience working alongside data, security, platform, AI, or machine-learning specialists is desirable.
