Responsibilities
- Lead complex technical efforts across multiple engineers and set team direction for project impact, quality, and efficiency.
- Lead major initiatives, projects, teams, rollouts, and phased releases.
- Design core software components and infrastructure platforms.
- Improve system efficiency, scalability, stability, quality, and reliability through testing, monitoring, rollouts, and proactive changes.
- Collaborate with other teams to incorporate innovations and drive improvements across codebases, products, and systems.
- Conduct design and code reviews.
- Onboard and mentor team members and support successful ramp-up on team codebases.
- Develop software primarily using C/C++ and Python.
Requirements
- 8+ years of programming experience in a relevant programming language.
- 6+ years of relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar systems.
- Experience successfully leading major initiatives, projects, and teams.
- Experience improving quality through code reviews, testing, rollout practices, monitoring, and proactive changes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack.
- Experience shipping high-quality work and achieving high reliability.
- Experience using data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions.
- Preferred: experience with C, C++, and Java.
- Preferred: ability to integrate AI tools into workflows and apply responsible, ethical AI practices.
- Preferred: ongoing AI skill development, including prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration.
