Responsibilities
- Identify and recommend improvements across manufacturing platforms, primarily MES.
- Design, develop, and support scalable, reliable, high-availability manufacturing platform solutions.
- Develop architectural strategies and influence technology standards across the manufacturing platform portfolio.
- Build integrations between manufacturing platforms and related systems, including API development and data connectivity.
- Investigate AI agents and automation to reduce development cycles and accelerate delivery.
- Support machine connectivity, troubleshooting, debugging, networking, and security across manufacturing IT/OT environments.
- Provide technical consulting and guidance to end users, citizen developers, and business stakeholders.
- Create process maps, data architecture maps, integration requirements, protocols, and data specifications.
- Monitor technical project deliverables, contribute to project scope, and support timely execution.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams to understand requirements and develop solutions.
- Contribute to multi-year platform and OT data strategies and serve as an MES, smart factory, and connected operations subject matter expert.
- Support change management strategies and collaborate on technical decisions shaping the manufacturing platform ecosystem.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant Information Technology experience in manufacturing operations, including significant manufacturing platform development and support.
- Demonstrated proficiency building platform integrations, APIs, and data connections.
- Working knowledge of machine connectivity platforms and methods including OPC, MQTT, and Modbus.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, processes, and shop-floor environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, debugging, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Working knowledge of networking principles and security best practices for manufacturing IT/OT environments.
- Preferred experience developing in Tulip; working with Kepware, MQTT, or Litmus; integrating Oracle ERP with manufacturing systems; and using agile development methodologies.
- Ability to travel domestically as required, approximately 10%.
