Responsibilities
- Understand end-user requirements and write commercial or enterprise-grade software.
- Design, implement, debug, and maintain software enhancements, defect corrections, and new products.
- Develop software for monitoring and reporting IBM z/OS systems performance.
- Provide input on software designs and assess software compatibility with hardware.
- Identify code problems, escalate issues to senior engineers, and debug customer issues.
- Document and communicate technical topics while working collaboratively under limited direction.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
- Proven real-world software development experience.
- Proficiency in C/C++ development and debugging.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Preferred familiarity with IBM z/OS environments and facilities, including JES and ISPF.
- Preferred familiarity with IBM z/OS Performance Monitoring, IBM HLASM, and IBM PL/I development and debugging.
