Responsibilities
- Lead workflow automation and orchestration across the organisation using n8n and Microsoft Power Automate.
- Define and maintain the automation Centre of Excellence, including standards, reusable patterns, templates, documentation, and operational guardrails.
- Design and deliver enterprise automations integrating SaaS platforms, internal systems, APIs, cloud services, and third-party providers.
- Provide hands-on workflow design, configuration, scripting, integration logic, and technical validation.
- Establish practices for automation testing, deployment, monitoring, error handling, version control, environment separation, and observability.
- Embed AI capabilities such as LLM calls for classification, extraction, and summarisation into workflows under responsible-AI controls.
- Partner with AI Engineering on hybrid solutions while owning workflow, integration, and orchestration layers.
- Support business users, Operations Champions, and Power Users in safely designing and adopting no-code and low-code automations.
- Review automation designs for fragility, complexity, security risks, control gaps, and supportability.
- Evaluate emerging automation technologies and maintain an automation capability-maturity roadmap.
- Coach and mentor engineers, analysts, business users, and automation champions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in automation, integration, software engineering, workflow orchestration, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with n8n and Microsoft Power Automate and good understanding of Microsoft Power Platform.
- Experience designing, leading, and delivering enterprise automation with low-code platforms.
- Strong understanding of consuming AI in workflows, including LLM calls, intelligent document processing, and human-in-the-loop design.
- Experience integrating AI services into automation platforms and familiarity with agents, prompts, guardrails, Microsoft Agent Framework, and LangChain.
- Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, event-driven integration, authentication patterns, data mapping, and system-to-system communication.
- Experience with automation standards, governance, reusable patterns, regulated environments, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring.
- Fluency in source control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and environment management.
- Understanding of governance, security, privacy, auditability, and data handling in regulated enterprise environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications in automation, Microsoft Power Platform, software engineering, integration, process improvement, or AI are desirable.
