Base Salary
$251k - $310k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy scalable auto-labeling pipelines to increase data throughput and reduce reliance on manual annotation.
- Build automated anomaly detection and auto-grading systems to evaluate annotation quality, detect regressions, and enforce quality standards across millions of labels.
- Train, optimize, and deploy 2D and 3D computer vision models for object detection, segmentation, and spatial tracking.
- Fine-tune and deploy vision-language and large language models for open-set labeling and contextual reasoning tasks using prompt optimization and post-training techniques.
- Set technical strategy, guide architectural decisions, and mentor senior and mid-level engineers.
- Collaborate with Perception, Planner, and Simulation teams to align labeling capabilities with Waymo Driver data needs.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering and applied machine learning.
- Programming experience in C++ or Python.
- Experience building, evaluating, and deploying deep learning models for object detection, segmentation, and spatial tracking.
- Experience with large-model training, distributed computing, and scaling deep learning architectures using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience taking machine learning solutions from research and experimentation through robust, scaled production deployment.
- Preferred: experience building internal tooling for machine learning developers.
