Responsibilities
- Design and maintain mainframe applications and participate in legacy modernization activities.
- Perform application assessment, discovery, roadmap development, and modernization planning.
- Analyze business requirements and produce functional and technical design specifications.
- Develop, deploy, and manage application solutions that meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with development, IT, operations, business, vendor, and global delivery teams.
- Support data migration from mainframes to cloud or on-premises environments.
- Follow and improve coding standards and best practices while working in an Agile environment.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience in solutioning and delivery of applications hosted on mainframes.
- Strong experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
- Experience with ENDEVOR, CHANGEMAN, ISPW, or GIT, and scheduling tools such as CA7, Control-M, or OPC.
- Experience with z/OS Connect, RESTful API integration, MQ, DB2 stored procedures, and relational database environments.
- Experience with mainframe modernization, including rewrite, rehost, or refactor approaches, and migration to Azure, AWS, or hybrid systems.
- Working experience with one or more of Azure, AWS, GCP, Java, or Python.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, written, oral communication, problem-solving, time-management, and prioritization skills.
- Preferred experience with PL/I, IMS, Hogan, Coolgen, generative AI solutions, microservices, API integration, cloud-based DevOps tools, .NET, C, C++, and financial or banking systems.
- Preferred certifications include Azure Developer/DevOps Associate or Azure AI Engineer Associate.
