Responsibilities
- Train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy proprietary language models, including on-device small language models.
- Curate datasets, golden sets, and evaluation harnesses for model assessment.
- Own the production health of AI features across quality, cost, and latency, and debug AI incidents end to end.
- Maintain models, prompts, and pipelines as underlying tools and APIs evolve.
- Partner with product managers and engineers to prototype AI use cases and support product decisions with evaluation, cost, and latency evidence.
- Document AI work and coach junior engineers and interns on AI topics.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in ML or AI engineering with models or AI features shipped and operated in production.
- Hands-on experience with LLM fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, and evaluation methods such as golden sets, LLM-as-judge, and regression tests.
- Experience monitoring and optimizing production AI systems for cost, latency, and quality.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals, including testing, CI, and observability.
- Proficiency in Python and ability to work across a TypeScript product codebase.
- Experience with small language models and on-device or on-premises model deployment is a strong plus.
- Excellent command of French and English in technical and professional contexts.
