Responsibilities
- Lead projects or systems while coordinating the activities of other engineers.
- Determine the technical tasks and direction for engineers on the project or system.
- Make technical decisions that achieve customer, operational, program, or service objectives.
- Improve existing engineering structures and processes.
- Reconcile competing priorities involving time, quality, complexity, and risk to identify optimal solutions.
- Identify patterns and consolidate repetition into generalized solutions.
- Collaborate with management to establish and improve engineering rigor standards.
- Represent PayPal in interactions with partners, customers, and industry organizations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to coordinate engineers, determine technical direction, and make complex technical judgments.
- Ability to improve engineering processes and standards and represent the company externally.
