Responsibilities

  • Increase the results and effectiveness of software engineers across a large domain.
  • Set the technology roadmap for a domain.
  • Adapt the role and choose effective approaches to achieve technical goals.
  • Advise senior executives and influence multi-year business strategies.
  • Handle ambiguous and unfamiliar situations using creativity and decisive judgment.
  • Use discovery and exploratory research to support successful decisions.
  • Identify cross-project and cross-team themes, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Determine when to adopt industry-standard solutions versus developing novel solutions.
  • Mentor others to propagate technical influence and enhance organizational performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to influence senior executives and multi-year business strategies.
  • Ability to operate independently across ambiguous and unfamiliar situations.
  • Ability to identify broad organizational improvement opportunities and make build-versus-buy decisions.
