Base Salary
$140k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, test, and maintain internal web services and user interfaces for software release workflows.
- Develop across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and embedded software as needed.
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and operate internal services throughout their software lifecycle.
- Improve observability through real-time status, logs, timelines, and audit trails.
- Strengthen automated testing, release safety checks, and CI/CD workflows.
- Develop deployment governance features including auditability, role-based access, and privileged action tracking.
- Support production rollouts, release operations, and the internal-services on-call rotation.
- Deliver maintainable production-quality code and provide constructive technical feedback in reviews and design discussions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production systems, internal tools, or high-visibility software projects.
- Strong backend experience with Node.js or TypeScript-based services.
- Strong frontend experience with TypeScript and a modern web framework; Vue is preferred and React is acceptable.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, with GCP preferred.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, testing, and supporting reliable, maintainable production software.
- Ability to own problem areas end to end, work through ambiguity, and drive cross-functional projects.
- Strong communication, collaboration, pairing, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Willingness to provide candid and respectful technical feedback.
- Experience with deployment systems, release tooling, feature flags, fleet management, or internal developer platforms is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows, preferably GitHub Actions or a similar system, is a plus.
- Experience with observability, audit trails, access control, rollout governance, structured logging, metrics, or tracing is a plus.
- Experience supporting software for engineering, QA, and operations users is a plus.
Benefits
- US base salary range is not specified; candidates may work remotely in Canada.
- Canada-wide base salary: $115K-$160K CAD.
- Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
