Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Golang.
- Own and navigate a large ecosystem of approximately 35 legacy and modern backend services.
- Analyze codebases to identify technical debt, systemic issues, inefficiencies, and architectural risks.
- Propose and implement architectural and platform improvements.
- Ensure reliability and performance of high-load production systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define objectives and execute roadmap initiatives.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions while negotiating technical direction with peer teams.
- Contribute to long-term platform evolution while balancing short-term business priorities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of commercial software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Golang.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, from planning and objective-setting through delivery and support.
- Proven experience with high-load, high-traffic production systems.
- Strong understanding of scalable and maintainable backend architecture.
- Ability to work independently with large and unfamiliar codebases.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder negotiation skills.
- Ability to align technical solutions with business and customer needs.
- Upper-intermediate English proficiency.
- Experience with C++, Objective-C, or Rust is a plus.
- Experience owning a large-scale legacy system is a plus.
- Cybersecurity or infrastructure product experience is a plus.
- Experience with distributed systems and service-oriented architectures is a plus.
