Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and delivery outcomes of a major product area or substantial cross-team initiative.
- Understand customer workflows, adoption barriers, and market alternatives to make evidence-based product recommendations.
- Translate priorities into architecture, delivery increments, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead the design, coding, review, testing, and rollout of complex Java services and platform capabilities.
- Develop AI-enabled capabilities, including evaluation cases, security boundaries, human approvals, failure handling, and cost and latency controls.
- Improve performance, scalability, observability, security, tenant isolation, and production problem prevention.
- Address technical debt through staged investments tied to customer or delivery impact.
- Align interfaces, dependencies, and engineering practices across teams.
- Mentor senior engineers and communicate technical decisions to technical and business stakeholders.
- Partner with Product, Engineering Managers, and Distinguished Engineer or CTO leadership on priorities, capacity, and architecture.
- Document decision ownership and escalate unresolved cross-product trade-offs.
- Adhere to established internal controls.
Requirements
- 12+ years delivering enterprise software with demonstrated Principal-level ownership of significant initiatives.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong enterprise SaaS engineering experience, including security, performance, and operational reliability.
- Practical experience with AWS or Azure architecture, containers, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD.
- Experience delivering AI-enabled software or developer productivity capabilities into production and evaluating their effectiveness.
- Practical familiarity with LLMs, RAG, agents, or MCP.
- Evidence of influencing product decisions, leading cross-team implementation, and mentoring senior contributors.
- Clear communication skills with technical and business stakeholders across regions.
- Preferred: Salesforce metadata, APIs, or release workflows; DevSecOps, data protection, or developer-tool products.
- Preferred: modernization of complex enterprise platforms and experience in regulated or security-sensitive settings.
- Preferred: proprietary product achievements, open-source contributions, publications, or patents demonstrating technical influence.
