Responsibilities
- Shape company-level product direction and long-term platform investment with Product, the CTO, VP of Engineering, and customer-facing leaders.
- Guide cross-product architecture, shared services, integrations, interfaces, dependencies, and modernization plans.
- Personally design and implement critical components and lead technically demanding initiatives through validation and production rollout.
- Establish reliable production AI practices covering evaluation, tenant and data boundaries, safe tool execution, oversight, observability, and cost controls.
- Resolve high-impact systemic engineering problems and improve security, scalability, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
- Mentor Principal Engineers, architects, and senior technical leaders while building reusable engineering practices.
- Communicate technical trade-offs in terms of customer impact, investment, and risk, and influence executive decisions without reporting authority.
- Adhere to established internal controls and demonstrate accountability for outcomes after product delivery.
Requirements
- 15+ years delivering complex enterprise software with sustained company-wide or multi-product technical impact.
- Exceptional hands-on expertise in Java, distributed systems, enterprise APIs, and SaaS architecture.
- Experience leading major initiatives across multiple teams and bringing them into reliable production use.
- Demonstrated production AI delivery, including evaluation, security, operational performance, and economic trade-offs.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, modern delivery practices, containers, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong judgment in security, scalability, reliability, observability, and architectural modernization.
- Evidence of influencing product direction and translating technical investments into customer or business outcomes.
- Ability to mentor Principal-level engineers and influence executive decisions without relying on reporting authority.
- Preferred experience with Salesforce ecosystem products, DevSecOps, release orchestration, code analysis, security, or data protection.
- Experience with regulated enterprise customers and globally distributed engineering teams is preferred; patents, publications, open-source contributions, or other external-grade technical impact are useful but not mandatory.
