Responsibilities

Build and maintain the company’s data platform using Dagster, dbt, AWS ECS, and Google BigQuery.
Develop platform tools, monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost controls, testing, CI/CD, and cataloging capabilities for other data teams.
Maintain and optimize high-volume, business-critical ELT pipelines.
Transfer terabytes of data nightly from MySQL on AWS to Google BigQuery and manage daytime synchronizations without negatively affecting source-system performance.
Own the company’s most critical reports, which support Executive Board decisions and other departmental data teams.
Act as a multiplier for other engineering teams through modern data-platform expertise and reusable solutions.

Hands-on data engineering and software engineering experience with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms and enabling other engineering teams.
Deep practical experience with Dagster, dbt, Google BigQuery, and AWS ECS.
Strong software-engineering foundations in CI/CD, testing, best practices, and design patterns applied to data engineering.
Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
Experience with infrastructure setups using Docker and Terraform or CloudFormation.
Practical knowledge of data-engineering best practices and the judgment to balance them with delivery needs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex processes clearly to different stakeholders.
Business-fluent English and an egoless, team-first approach.
