Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and drive the transition to the company’s new data platform using Dagster, dbt, AWS ECS, and Google BigQuery.
Develop custom tooling, monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost controls, testing, CI/CD, and cataloging capabilities for data teams.
Maintain and optimize high-volume, business-critical ELT pipelines moving terabytes of data from MySQL in AWS to Google BigQuery nightly.
Implement daytime data synchronization while avoiding negative impacts on source-system performance.
Own the company’s most critical reports used for executive board decisions and as foundations for other departmental data teams.

Substantial hands-on experience in data engineering and software engineering, particularly with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms and enabling the productivity of other engineering teams.
Deep practical experience with Dagster, dbt, Google BigQuery, and AWS ECS.
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, CI/CD, best practices, and design patterns, applied to data engineering.
Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
Knowledge of infrastructure setups using Docker, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
Pragmatic understanding of when to apply data engineering best practices and when to deliver quickly.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
Business-fluent English.
